Services

Inquiry Services
The Centre operates an Inquiry Service for clients. Inquiries could be channeled by telephone, in writing or in person. Literature searches are also undertaken for clients from resources available in the library.
 
Reference Services
The Centre is open for reference to accredited inquiries during working hours. Photocopying facilities are provided when necessary.
 
Current Awareness Services
The staff of the ITI are kept informed of the material available, in the library in their specific fields of interest, either manually or through e-mail This service is available to clients for a modest fee.
 
Open Access Catalogue
The entire catalogue of the Centre is available to the public through the Institute’s website, www.iti.lk New books and journal articles can also be viewed through the website. Members are given additional facilities to extend, reserve or clarity their loan status through the web.
 
Linkages
ITI is a member of the Sri Lanka Scientific and Technical Information Network (SLSTINET) and participants in the Agricultural (AGRINET) Environmental (ENLINET) which operate under its umbrella.

The Centre also has access to trade information through subscription to on-line databases.

Internationally the Centre is the focal point for the Asia-Pacific Traditional Medicine and Herbal Technology Network (APTMNET).
 
Internet Access
The Centre provides its members access to its on-line databases through Internet, on a charge basis.
